Song and Cheer

The Los Al High Varsity Song squad was recently named NATIONAL CHAMPIONS in a competition held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Florida.  They won in the jazz category and were third place finishers in the pom division.  The team, comprised of ten girls along with two alternates, traveled to Florida to compete against the nation’s best dance teams.  After performing both of their routines in preliminary rounds the team was put straight through to the finals!  The girls, selected last April, along with their coach/advisor Jenn Ramirez and assistant coach Leo Ramirez, have been focused on this competition during their 15 hours a week of practice.

The team comprised of senior Kelly Blakeman, juniors Melissa Burney, Jen Javier, and Natalie Kadletz, sophomores Kaitlin Flagg and Ashley Frize, freshmen Brittany Beckham, Valerie Enciso, Kristen Fukuto, and Adrienne Javier, along with alternates Mallory Archer and Rachel Cushman were supported by a typical crowd of vocal Los Al supporters including parents, grandparents, aunts, and siblings.  The team will be competing again in March at the Anaheim Convention Center and will hold their annual exhibition on March 12 and 13 in the Los Al gym.  Come and watch them strut their stuff!

GO LOS AL!
