CAMERA POLICY
Students and any persons not employed by the Los Alamitos Unified School District are not allowed to bring cameras, video, digital, or otherwise, and/or equipment on campus without prior written permission. Students are not allowed to use school video equipment to film or record school activities, classes, or campus activity without prior written permission, with the exception of classes where video equipment is part of the curriculum and they have specific permission from the teacher. Parents wishing to videotape student activities (i.e., pep rallies, assemblies, etc.) during school hours may receive permission when they register in the Main Office as a campus visitor. Videotaping athletic contests and other extra-curricular activities at events open to the public are not affected by this policy. CELL PHONE POLICY
Students are not permitted to use cell phones, bluetooth devices or pagers during the regular school day which begins at 7:42 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. “Use” is defined as, but not limited to, having the device on, having the device out in class, having the device sound off in class including vibrating, use of text messaging, retrieval of a message, checking or entering phone numbers, checking the time, and/or reaching for the device in a backpack or purse. All devices must be turned off and out of sight during the entire school day. Use of an electronic device during instructional time is treated as class disruption.
The following consequences will be enforced: · 1st Offense – Item will be confiscated from student, turned over to Administration, returned to parent/guardian, and warning of · 2nd Offense – Item will be confiscated from student, turned over to Administration, returned to parent/guardian, · 3rd Offense – Item will be confiscated from student, turned over to Administration, returned to parent/guardian, and student will be suspended from school for 1 day for defiance of school authority. · 4th Offense – Item will be confiscated from student, turned over to Administration, returned to parent/guardian, and student will be suspended from school for 2 days for defiance of school authority. Any student refusing to hand over an electronic device to a school official will be considered in defiance of authority, will receive a HEADPHONES AND BLUETOOTH DEVICES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON CAMPUS.
IPOD/MP3/RADIOS/STEREOS/ELECTRONIC READERS
NOT ALLOWED ON CAMPUS!
Students are prohibited from bringing iPods, MP3 players, personal gaming devices, electronic readers (Kindles, iPads, etc.) or other similar devices to campus. These devices will be confiscated by a staff member and returned to a parent/guardian only. Headphones or earpieces of any type are not allowed on campus unless specifically required by the teacher, nor are personal radios, stereos, boom boxes, etc. Failure to comply with this policy will be considered defiance of authority.
Consequences are the same as cell phone consequences. Revised June 2010 |
