It is an honor to be part of a community that supports and values music in the schools.  I have the privilege of meeting for 45 minutes each week with every class at McGaugh as we explore the elements of music and prepare for upcoming performances.

NOTE: All concerts will be at McGaugh Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

Chorus
All fourth and fifth graders have the option of joining chorus.  We meet 30 minutes once a week during school hours. For the 2011-12 school year, Chorus will meet on Tuesdays from 1:45-2:15 p.m. There is no fee to participate.  Students are expected to wear red shirts, preferably a McGaugh spirit shirt, and black pants for performances.  Please see our schedule of events:

About Me
My parents trace my start in formal music training to kindergarten.  We had just moved to Mexico, and I was struggling with the language acquisition.  Don't tell your students this, but my parents let me drop out of kindergarten and take piano lessons instead!  (Don't worry, I went back to school as soon as I learned conversational Spanish, and have since earned every degree on time, including a masters' degree in Music Education from Long Beach State.)  Multiple musical opportunities through out my life opened my eyes to the one thing I love to do:  teach music.  I have taught music in the public schools to high school, junior high, and elementary classes since 1997.
