• Welcome to Room 12!

    Campus opens at 7:40 a.m.

    School begins at 7:55 a.m.

Kindergarten dismissal is at 11:05 a.m. the 1st day of school.

Kindergarten dismissal is at 12:30 p.m. after the first day of school until 9/15.

Kindergarten dismissal is at 1:20 p.m. beginning on 9/18.

    Parking

There is no parking on the white curb. Please park your car and walk your child to school. If you are late, please take your child to the office and get a pass before walking to class.

    Absences and Make-up Assignments

If your child is showing signs of illness, please call the office before school begins to notify of your child’s absence. If your child is absent for more than two days, please email or call me to let me know that you would like to pick-up missed assignments. I will have the work ready for you when you come to pick it up.

    Emergency Kit

Please send your child’s emergency kit, emergency cards and technology release form back to me as soon as possible.

    Belongings

Please label all backpacks, lunch pails, lunch money, clothing and jackets. Thank you!

    Change of Clothes

Accidents happen! Please provide a change of clothes in a gallon size plastic back labeled with your child’s name. I will keep the change of clothes in our classroom just in case. Please always send your child to school in close-toed shoes.

    Toys

Please do not allow your child to bring toys to school (unless on specified days).

    Lunch and Snack

Please send your child with a snack every day.

Lunch is from 11:15-11:55am except on Wednesdays. Please send your child with a sack lunch for the first two weeks of school if possible. Please set up your lunch account (if buying) and practice your four or five digit code at home. Remember to press the green “Enter” button after! Lastly, please try to send your child with a sack lunch on rainy days to avoid students having to walk in the rain. Thank you!

    Water Bottles

Your child may bring a water bottle to school and keep it in their backpack every day. Please do not send any juice or soda.

    Spirit Days

Remember to have your child wear a red McGaugh shirt on Fridays!

    How am I doing today?

Students will be using a clip chart system and will be rewarded for excellent behavior. I will always communicate about your child’s behavior with you.

    Volunteers

We welcome and love all volunteers! The first few weeks allow time to establish routines, expected behaviors, and our daily schedule. Please fill out the information on the volunteer sign-up sheet. I can always use help with helping students in small group centers, craft/art activities, prepping materials, reading at storytime or sending projects home. Thank you!

    Centers

We use center-based learning in which the children work in small groups and in pairs independently while the teacher works closely with a small group. The students switch centers after a given period of time allowing each child the opportunity to work closely with the teacher.

    Student of the Week

Each week one child will be chosen to be the Student of the Week! I will send home a poster to decorate on a Friday. Please return the poster the following week upon completion. Your child will get to share their poster with the class and it will be posted in classroom all week. The Star of the Week is encouraged to bring in a “show and tell” item and their favorite book to share with the class. This is a fun and exciting way for your child to develop oral language skills and have the opportunity to share with the class.

    Birthdays

We love celebrating birthdays! Please let me know if your child would like to bring something into our classroom prior to that day and I can schedule the celebration into our day. Summer birthdays will be celebrated during the last few weeks of school.
