SB 939 promotes greater awareness and understanding of neurodiversity while encouraging schools to reduce barriers to learning and create educational environments where every student can thrive. Neurodivergent students may include those with autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, Tourette syndrome, and other neurological differences.

At Los Alamitos Unified, we believe every student brings unique strengths, talents, and perspectives to our schools. We are committed to:

• Providing access to appropriate educational supports and services based on individual student needs.

• Fostering understanding, acceptance, and belonging throughout our school communities.

Standing Together Resources

As part of California's implementation of SB 939, families, educators, and community members are encouraged to explore Standing Together, a free collection of evidence-based resources designed to increase understanding of neurodiversity, promote inclusion, address bullying, and support positive school communities.

The Standing Together Resource Hub includes videos, learning modules, practical tools, and family resources that help create welcoming and supportive environments for neurodivergent students.
