Hello Rossmoor Knights!
The elementary years are a time when students begin to develop their academic self-concept and feelings of competence and confidence as learners. They are beginning to develop decision-making, communication and life skills, as well as character values. It is also a time when students develop and acquire attitudes toward school, self, peers, social groups, and family. The elementary years serve as the foundation for future success.
At Rossmoor, the support team includes a School Psychologist (2 days/week), School Psychologist intern (2 days/week), and Clinical Psychologist (1 day/week). Aligned with our school’s primary mission, the support team’s goal is to provide positive experiences that can help students become more successful academically, emotionally, socially, and behaviorally. The support team’s role includes:
- Identifying appropriate referrals for academic and behavioral interventions
- Short-term counseling interventions
This year we hope to launch a school wide positive behavior intervention program focused on promoting leadership, community responsibility, and personal accountability.Incorporating the Peer Assistance Leadership (PAL) program and Zones of Regulation program we want to reinforce the Rossmoor ABCs: Always be prepared, Be Respectful, and Care for others.
