Our District is registered under USDA for the National School Lunch Program. Nutritious and safe meals are sold and served at our cafeteria daily, where hot food is hot and cold food is cold. Students may buy their lunches from the cafeteria or bring lunch from home. We have a closed campus, hence students may not go home for lunch unless the parent signs them out at the main office. The cost of each school lunch is $3.25 and co-pay for reduced-price meals is waived in our District. Students who bring their own lunch from home can still purchase snacks and beverages such as milk or bottled water from the cafeteria. If students bring a snack from home to eat during the morning recess, nutritious snacks (fruits and whole grain snacks) are encouraged for all children. PLEASE, DO NOT SEND CANDY OR SODA FOR SNACKS OR LUNCH.
SODA AND CANDY ARE NOT PERMITTED IN LUNCHES BROUGHT FROM HOME. Please DO NOT bring fast food lunches for your child. If students forget their lunch they are allowed to charge using their cafeteria account provided it is active and contains a positive balance. Money is not lent to students who have forgotten their lunches.

Purchase School Lunch
Parents are encouraged to purchase or pre-pay school lunches in advance for their children. This helps expedite service during lunch and allows more time for students to eat. Parents can purchase school lunches in advance by:
(1) Online Payment
Parents can create an online lunch account for their student at K12PaymentCenter.com. This account allows parents to electronically transfer funds into their child's lunch account, monitor the account for lunch activity and receive automated notification when student account funds become low if desired.
(2) Send Check or Cash
If you choose to bring money to school personally or send it with your student, please put it in an envelope clearly marked with the student's first and last name, their ID #, their teacher's name, and the amount enclosed. Make the checks payable to Food Services - Los Alamitos Unified School District. The cost for each lunch is $3.25. Checks should be turned in to the designated container in the school office. Please write a separate check for each child if you have more than one child at Rossmoor. Write the name of the student on the memo portion of the check. Families may apply for lunch payment assistance through the school office.
