The Parent Teachers Association (PTA), is made up of parents, teachers, staff and general community members. It provides information and connection for all parties, enrichment programs for students, safety, and health education and supplies, enhancement of school supplies and property, parent education, and teacher/staff professional development. The purpose of all efforts and money raised by the PTA is to positively impact the lives of all children and families of Hopkinson Elementary School. The Hopkinson PTA is represented and supported by the State and National PTA.
PTA at Hopkinson
Parents at Hopkinson play a pivotal role in supporting both the educational and social development of our students. By volunteering in the classrooms and media center they learn what is expected in each content area/grade level and are better able to encourage their child to strive toward rigorous academic goals. Our parents regularly log in over 8,000 volunteer hours annually. We depend on our parent volunteers for without their countless hours of dedicated work and creative talents we would not be the proud Hopkinson Huskies!
PTA supports a variety of programs at Hopkinson through the annual Book Fair, May Carnival, Family Nights at local restaurants, Spirit Gear sales, School Cents at local malls and School Supply Packages.
Some of the activities supported and sponsored by PTA are:
- MIND ST Math Program
- Science in a Box
- Husky Book Club
- Kindergarten Welcome Pictures
- School Assemblies
- Honorary Service Awards
- Parent Education
- Reading Incentive Program
- Reflections Art Contest
- End of the Year 5th Grade Events
