Beginning in September and continuing throughout the year, students will be able to attend a variety of enrichment activities. The majority of after school classes are facilitated by the Los Alamitos Education Foundation (LAEF). Current class listings and registration forms can be downloaded from their website. Students are introduced to string or wind instruments and may participate in the district Learner's Orchestra. This is a year-long program that begins in late September. Facilitated by Academic Chess Orange CountyStudents learn chess strategies that have kept chess a popular game for hundreds of years. Through lessons, workbooks, and mini-tournaments, kids are given the tools they need to become "Chessmonsters," the highest level an Academic Chess student can achieve.
