State Eligibility Dates for Kindergarten Are:
Child must turn five on or before Sept. 1
Any child who will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2021, is eligible to enter kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year. Los Alamitos Unified School District wants every child to be prepared for success in school. To ensure that kindergarten children are fully able to achieve success in the increasingly rigorous, State-Standards-Based Curriculum, we are offering Transitional Kindergarten in addition to our regular kindergarten. For more information on Transitional Kindergarten, see the Transitional Kindergarten page.
Beginning February 1st, please view the video presentation below for highlights about our District Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten programs at each of our six award-winning elementary schools. Also, plan to participate in one of two Question and Answer sessions via Zoom (Information Below.)
