Child Development Center Interest Process
Thank you for your interest in the Los Alamitos Unified School District Child Development Center (CDC). We are proud to offer high quality early childhood programs for children 2.9 years of age through 5 years of age. We are updating our process for families inquiring about our Child Development Center Program enrollment for our tuition based program and replaces the previous “wait list application” process. A Google Form will be used to help gather accurate program interest and family contact information. (Families interested in California State Preschool Program options are encouraged to contact the CDC Office for assistance.)
If you are interested in adding an additional child to our interest list, please fill out a new interest list form (one form for each child) to reflect your preferences. A hard copy version of the Google Form will be available for families that do not have access to the internet. Please contact our CDC Office if you prefer a hard copy version.
As enrollment spaces become available, our CDC office team members will reach out to the family.
Enrollment Process
The enrollment process for preschool includes requirements from California Community Care Licensing and also District forms. Once you are offered a spot you can fill out the new child enrollment packet. Along with the enrollment packet we are required to obtain copies of birth certificates, immunization records and physician's report prior to entry into the classroom. Please note children need to be 2.9 years of age and independent in their toileting skills prior to entering the classroom.
For the state funded program, we will certify eligibility no sooner than May prior to the school year starting, yet we enroll throughout the school year when space is available. Please see link to the right to access the pre-eligibility form so we have your information on file.
Summer Program Process
The CDC offers a summer program for existing families. Occasionally there will be space for new families to enroll. Children who wish to be enrolled in the summer program must complete a summer enrollment packet to confirm enrollment.
Please reach out to our CDC Administrative Team with any questions. We are here to assist you! (cdc@losal.org)
