Dear McGaugh Families,
By now you have received the message from Dr. Pulver announcing the extension of our school closure to April 17 for the time being. I am certain that this is not the news you wanted to hear, nor is it the news we wanted to deliver, but if you are watching the various press conferences on television, you are not surprised. I have attached a short video produced by PBS that summarizes HOW the COVID-19 virus spreads and WHY we must take the precautions that have been put in place. I think you will find it informative and easy to understand. It is also something that can be shared with your family. It brought me a sense of peace in this otherwise hard to comprehend world in which we are now living. I wish you health, happiness, and a sense of hope in the coming weeks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgBla7RepXU
MCGAUGH SCHOOL OFFICE CLOSING TOMORROW, MARCH 19TH
If you need anything picked up from McGaugh (student work, Chrome Book, medication, personal items) you must come by 3:00 TODAY to pick up.
We will be retrieving emails but will have limited access to phone voicemail so you are encouraged to send an email directly to the person most likely to answer your question. If you are unsure who to contact feel free to contact Ms. Wood at email@example.com or me at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will have some access to our school but mostly will be working remotely from home beginning tomorrow afternoon.
On behalf of the McGaugh staff, we wish you the best and want you to know that there is nothing we want more than to be back in school and back to normal. I know the Governor made a statement about schools being closed through summer but we have not had any such message delivered to California school districts. I will continue to communicate with you with factual information. Stay positive; stay healthy; stay awesome!

Good Morning McGaugh Parents!
Please come to the McGaugh Media Center TODAY between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00pm to pickup the following items:
The McGaugh staff and District team has been working diligently these past days to prepare appropriate curriculum for your child. This work has been uploaded and will be accessible through your child’s teacher’s Google Classroom. This class work will be available to you and your child beginning WEDNESDAY, March 18!
This digital learning platform called Google Classroom may be new to you, especially if your child is in the primary grades. I have attached a Parents’ Guide to Google Classroom. It gives a step-by-step guide on how to access and use Google Classroom!
Once your child’s Google Classroom is ready, you will need your child’s golosal.net account email and password. Many 2nd-5th grade students at McGaugh already use Google Classroom and know how to log-on. Ask them! They will show you! If your child’s teacher has not used Google Classroom, this will be new to them, and probably you as well. You can find their golosal.net email and password using the Aeries Parent Portal. Follow THESE instructions. You will receive another email tomorrow from your classroom teacher with more directions.
Every teacher at McGaugh now has a Google Classroom where you will access curriculum and instruction for your TK-5th grade child. The first assignment will be for Wednesday through Friday of this week and the second assignment will be for the week of March 23-27.
Intent to Return forms or renewed permits from student's home school district deadline is April 1, 2020. Parents are encouraged to scan and email forms to email@example.com.
